County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:29 p.m. Paul Edwin McKinney, 34, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for aggravated battery.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches.

• At 2:42 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD performed a smoke investigation at 1 N. Locust St. but was unable to determine what set off the alarm. A heater was suspected to be the problem. GFD subsequently reset the alarm and returned to station at 3:16 p.m.

• At 3:49 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to smoking at 106 Spring St.

• At 4:37 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 1 E. Hanna St. but was unable to determine what caused the alarm to activate. GFD then reset the alarm and returned to station at 4:52 p.m.

• At 4:37 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 626 E. Seminary St. but was unable to determine what caused the alarm to activate. GFD then reset the alarm and returned to station at 4:52 p.m.
