Beatrice N. Spurgeon

Beatrice N. Spurgeon, 82, of Gosport, went to be with the Lord Jan. 26, 2017.

She was born Aug. 28, 1934 to the late John and Josephine (Sutterfield) McCallie.

Bea married Raymond Spurgeon July 25, 1952, and he preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Gertrude Jean McCallie, and a brother, John McCallie.

Bea is survived by her sons, Michael Spurgeon of Gosport and David Spurgeon and wife Annette of Bloomington; daughter Rheda Rutenberg and husband David of Poland; grandchildren Gina Carter and husband Ron, Michele Arnold, Dianna Conner, Stefanie Carrico, Ashley Spurgeon and Christopher Spurgeon and her loving cat Murphy; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Bea will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time.
