Virginia L. Hardwick

Virginia L. Hardwick, 92, of Greencastle, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greencastle.

She was born April 25, 1924, in Fillmore to Ruby and Newton Kersey.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Gerald) Hayes and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia married Richard Hardwick, and in addition to Shirley the couple had two sons who preceded her in death, Thomas Hardwick and an unnamed infant son. She was also preceded in death by grandson Matthew Hardwick Hayes.

A life-long Greencastle resident, Hardwick retired from Mallory’s factory after 25 years. She loved to play golf and was president of the Golf League. She loved her family dearly.

There will be no services, but cards and condolences can be sent to Shirley Hayes at 204 Greenwood Drive.
