County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 4:30 p.m. Graylon Dwight Bell, 50, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail on a court order.

• At 2:40 p.m. Matthew Tyler Engle, 21, Farmersburg, was arrested on a local warrant.

• At 10:38 a.m. Krystal Lee Smith, 29, Fillmore, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

• At 10:30 a.m. Timothy James McDougalle, 41, Indianapolis, was booked in on a court order.

Tuesday

• At 11:03 p.m. Terry Thomas Maynard, 27, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a pair of local warrants.

• At 3:57 p.m. Cody Eugene Campbell, 25, Poland, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, James D. Wood, 39, Greencastle, was arrested at a Briarwood Court residence by Officer Alec Pettit on a Hendricks County warrant for contempt of court.

• At 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, Jack Dean Barnett Jr., 37, Greencastle, was taken into custody by Officer Kyle Lee for false informing following a traffic stop at Percy Julian Drive and Veterans Memorial Highway.

Barnett was a passenger in a vehicle driven by William Stone Jr., 34, Brazil.

Stone was issued a summons to appear in court for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Three other summonses were issued recently by GPD officers.

• At 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Jamie Davis, 23, Greencastle, was stopped on Avenue D by Capt. Charles Inman.

Davis was issued a summons for reckless possession of paraphernalia.

• At 2:20 p.m. Jan. 27, Thomas Dye, 19, Cave Creek, Ariz., was stopped on South Locust Street by Officer Lee.

Dye will be summoned into court on a possession of marijuana charge.

• At 5:24 p.m. Jan. 26, Peter Penni, 29, Bainbridge, was stopped by Officer Nick Eastham on Shadowlawn Avenue.

Penni will be summoned into court for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

One recent citation was issued by city officers.

• At 8:47 p.m. Monday, Darius Boyer, 45, Greencastle, was ticketed by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Boyer was cited for 51 mph in a 30 mph.

Two teenage drivers were involved in a property-damage accident at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday at East Washington and South Arlington streets.

Tyler Baugh, 18, Greencastle, was eastbound on Washington Street, driving a 1999 Mercury Mystique, getting ready to turn left onto South Arlington Street, when Trever Wood, 16, Greencastle, did not see the Baugh vehicle and pulled his 2001 GMC out of Arlington into its path, Officer Eastham reported.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

• At 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Brandy E. Huff, 29, Russellville, was northbound on U.S. 231 when she apparently blacked out for an unknown reason.

Huff was driving up Waterworks Hill, approaching County Road 100 North at the time of the incident.

Deputy Matt Biggs reported that Huff’s 2008 Chevrolet Impala crossed the southbound lane, left the road and hit a tree in the yard on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Huff was transported from the scene for abdominal pain, as her car’s airbags deployed in the incident.

She was also cited for driving with a suspended license.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
