GIRLS

Today

Cloverdale (15-8) vs. Monrovia (9-13)

Game time: 6 p.m. tipoff at Cascade Sectional

So far: Monrovia ended the season on a five-game losing streak and had a first-round by. Cloverdale won its last last three games of the regular season plus a 63-26 decision over North Putnam on Tuesday in the first round of the sectional.

History: The Clovers won 62-56 on Dec. 27 in the first round of the Monrovia Holiday Tourney and eventually won the title. Monrovia is the defending sectional champion.

South Putnam (13-10) at No. 7 Cascade (17-5)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Eagles finished the regular season on a two-game losing streak before defeating Southmont 43-42 in the first round of the sectional on Tuesday.

History: Cascade won 68-46 at South Putnam on Dec. 17.

BOYS

Saturday

Danville (11-6) at Cloverdale (15-5)

Game time: 1:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

Media: The game will be telecast live on www.mtcsports.net

So far: The Clovers have won 10 straight games and 13 of their last 14. The Warriors started the season 9-0, but since Christmas break have gone just 2-6. They have lost their last three games.

History: The last game between the teams was on Jan. 12, 1998. Cloverdale won that game 55-52.

So. Vermillion (3-12) at No. Putnam (6-10)

Game time: 2:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Cougars have not played since Jan. 27, when they won at Owen Valley 74-60 in a Western Indiana Conference crossover game for ninth place. The Wildcats started the season 2-2 but have gone 1-10 since then. Their most recent victory was 56-52 over Fountain Central on Jan. 21.

History: North Putnam won a 48-45 game in Clinton last year.

Greencastle at Brown County (3-12)

Game time: 1:30 p.m. varsity tipoff (NOTE: This time recently changed and is different than that on earlier schedules.)

So far: The Eagles had lost five straight games going into Thursday’s game at Franklin. Their only wins came over Eastern Greene, Daleville and North Putnam. Greencastle started the season 0-7 and has gone 5-3 since then.

History: The teams met on Jan. 27, also in Nashville, in the WIC 11th-place crossover game. Greencastle won 55-42.
