Former Cloverdale supt. takes interim role in Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD -- Dr. Carrie Milner, former Cloverdale Community School Corporation superintendent, will serve as interim superintendent at Bloomfield until June 30, or until a full-time superintendent is hired.

The Bloomfield School District Board of Trustees met in special session Thursday night to appoint Milner as interim superintendent while the board continues its search for a full-time replacement.

The search for a new superintendent began last July, when 10-year superintendent Dan Sichting left the school to pursue a position in White County. Following Sichting’s resignation, the school brought on Doug Rose (formerly of Greencastle) to serve as an interim until the board’s last meeting in January.

Milner will start Monday in the interim capacity.

Board member Steve Jones said Milner, who lives north of Greencastle, impressed the group, noting she has a background in special education and a strong background in budgeting.

Milner retired from Cloverdale Community Schools in 2014. She started at the school in 2002 during which time she carried the titles of assistant superintendent, interim superintendent and ultimately superintendent until her retirement.
