County Jail

Eleven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

• At 9:27 a.m. Scott Allen Williams, 40, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

Monday

• At 1:19 p.m. Sarah Deann Kimbler, 30, Camby, was housed at the jail on a warrant for battery and driving with a suspended license.

• At 1:14 p.m. Robert Michael Buskirk, 35, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

Sunday

• At 6:39 p.m. H. Tom Tomlinson, 38, Plainfield, was charged with invasion of privacy.

• At 3:29 a.m. Kenneth Raymond Wead, 19, Montgomery, Ohio, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC greater than .08, possession of marijuana and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

• At 3:14 a.m. Tyler Robert Koss, 19, Millersburg, Tenn., was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

• At 2:27 a.m. Logan James Greene, 19, Greencastle, was arrested for false informing and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

Saturday

• At 9:07 p.m. Bruce Lee Artis, 42, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a writ for contempt of court.

Friday

• At 6:29 p.m. Christopher Anthony Tanner, 34, Cloverdale, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

• At 5:57 p.m. Desiree Lynn Agee, 29, Poland, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a syringe.

• At 1:42 a.m. Kevin Laroy Kirklen, 25, Gary, was lodged at the jail for possession of marijuana and on an out-of-county warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nicole A. Marsh, 33, Roachdale was arrested at the College Inn by Capt. Chris Jones.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Marsh was arrested on a Montgomery County warrant stemming from the original charges of operating motor vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .15 percent or greater and leaving the scene of an accident.

• At 2:54 p.m. Monday, Dylan Alexander Romandine, 21, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee on Bloomington Street.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Romandine faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

City officers also issued one recent summons.

• At 1:12 a.m., Edward Reeves, 20, Brazil, was issued a summons into court for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop on Bloomington Street.

Reeves was stopped by Officer Brad Hiatt for reportedly having a tail light out, and during the investigation he was found to be in possession of alcohol, police said.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, Megan E. Lavely, 28, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 550 East in a 2008 Ford Focus.

Lavely told Special Deputy Josh Boller she previously felt the car pull to the left just prior to leaving the road. The steering again pulled to the left and caused Lavely to leave the road, hitting a drain tile under a driveway.

The car returned to the road and came to a stop.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Todd A. Yeagley, 38, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 350 North just east of County Road 325 West in a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze when a deer entered the road.

Yeagley told Lt. Donnie Pettit she swerved to miss the deer and hit a guardrail on the north side of the road, then crossed the road and came to rest in a field.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, Johnathon R. Cloud, 18, Waveland, was eastbound on County Road 1400 North just west of County Road 600 West in a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.

Cloud told Lt. Pettit he lost control where the asphalt turns to gravel. He started to fishtail and left the road, hittings several small trees.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to seven dispatches and one medical run.

• At 12:14 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 110 S. College Ave. The alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily at a pull station. GFD subsequently reset the alarm and returned to station at 12:25 a.m.

• At 2:52 a.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 413 Anderson St. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 3:05 a.m.

• At 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to reports of an unauthorized burn at 123 Ave. D. GFD advised the resident of burning ordinances before extinguishing the fire and returning to station at 6:36 p.m.

• At 6:32 a.m. on Monday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 450 N. Rockville Rd. A “skunk-like smell” was believed to have been the cause. After further observations and monitoring, GFD cleared the scene at 6:49 a.m.

• At 8:46 a.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 106 S. Spring St. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 8:54 a.m.

• At 9:01 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to reports of a vehicle crashing into a residence at 3997 S. County Road 275 East. GFD assisted in the removal of debris and fluids from the roadway before returning to station at 10:09 p.m.

• At 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD assisted the DePauw University Department of Public Safety with an alarm at 508 S. Indiana St. GFD subsequently cleared the scene and returned to station at 3:34 p.m.
