EMILY STINE, a first-year student majoring in liberal arts from Greencastle, was among the students named to Augustana College’s 2016 fall term Dean’s List.

Founded in 1860, Augustana College is a selective four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences in Rock Island, Ill.


Three students from Greencastle have have been named to the Butler University Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester.

ARIEL HIGGINS, a 2015 graduate of South Putnam, is a sophomore criminal major.

BAILEY BERISH, a 2016 Greencastle graduate, is a freshman majoring in health sciences.

Also a 2016 GHS grad, Paige Bragg is a freshman history major.

Any degree-seeking undergraduate student earning at least 12 academic hours of grade credit in a given semester may be placed on the dean’s list of the college of enrollment if the semester grade point average is in the top 20 percent of all eligible students in that college.


Franklin College has announced its dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. Students named to the dean’s list have achieved academic distinction by earning a 3.5 grade point average or above.

Four local students earned the honor.

MEGAN HELTERBRAND, a junior, is the daughter of Donald Helterbrand III of Gosport.

BRITTANY LOVE, a sophomore, is the daughter of Mike and Tina Love of Greencastle.

ADRIANNA PATTERSON, a junior, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Patterson of Cloverdale.

BRYCE WOODALL, a senior, is the son of Rebecca Kirsch of Crawfordsville and Terry Woodall of Coatesville.


Cunningham State Farm Agency recently welcomed a new member to its team, SUNSHINE MONNETT.

Monnett was born and raised in Greencastle. Most Putnam County residents know her family from the gas station her grandpa proudly ran.

She graduated from South Putnam High School in 1997. Sunshine married Tony Monnett shortly after graduation and they reside in Greencastle.

The Monnetts started their family in 2000 and are now proud parents of Justyce, Kamrie and Garrett. Sunshine and her family are members of New Providence Baptist Church.

State Farm has benefited from Monnett’s knowledge since 2011, when she began her career as a property and casualty representative. Now she is available to help with auto, home, farm/ranch, renters, boat and banking needs.


HANNAH CUNNINGHAM earned the dean’s list, highest honors at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, for the fall 2016 semester.

The daughter of Jay and Sandra Cunningham, she is a freshman studying nursing.


DAVID WILLIAMS of Greencastle was named to the University of Alabama’s dean’s list.

A total of 11,758 full-time undergraduate students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at UA were named to the dean’s or president’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above.


The fall 2016 dean’s list for Ball State University includes eight Putnam County students.

The list honors undergraduates who earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average for 12 or more credits of graded course work.

Local students on the list include SAMANTHA FLANNELLY, SYDNEY HARMON and ALAN SKILLERN of Coatesville; RACHAEL LUBINSKI, ERIN MACE and REBECCA SAMPSON of Greencastle; and JAIKE MATTHEWS and BRADLEY SHRADER of Reelsville.


Residential mortgage lender Ruoff Home Mortgage announced that senior loan officer CYNTHIA MATTOX was recognized as the top loan originator for the Greencastle branch in January 2017.

The top spot in each branch office is based on the number of closed loans during the month, as compared to their fellow peers.

Mattox joined Ruoff Home Mortgage in late December 2014. She started in the banking/lending industry 20 years ago. She has held the top spot several times.

The Greencastle office is located at 1360 Indianapolis Road, Suite L.
