Victim in Danville shooting identified

DANVILLE — Authorities have identified the shooting victim in a Danville incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

Danville Police had earlier arrested Philip Klug, 18, of Danville, on charges of aggravated battery and attempted murder over the weekend.

Klug is in custody after allegedly shooting Andrew Pollock, 33, of Danville, near the intersection of Kentucky and Chestnut streets.

Danville Metropolitan Police Department Officer Nathaniel Lien said the Hendricks County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot just before 3 a.m. Sunday.

Lien said Pollock was transported via ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition.

Klug was booked into the Hendricks County Jail on charges of attempted murder, a Level 1 felony, and aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, Lien reported.
