James R. High, 76, Greencastle, was born Dec. 14, 1940 in Kankakee County, Ill., to Edward and Bernita High.

Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Catherine Call; two brothers, Roger and Richard; and one son, Jonathan.

Survived by his wife, Sharon of 54 years; one daughter, Valerie Rayce (Michael) of Greencastle; one son, Alan High (Patty) of Herscher, Ill., and three grandchildren, Zachery Rayce, Gianna High and Dominic High.

Jim taught high school math at Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox, Ill., for 37 years and coached basketball and baseball for 35 of those years.

He had been a volunteer assistant coach for the South Putnam High School baseball team.

He was a member of Gobin United Methodist Church in Greencastle.

Services will be conducted at Gobin United Methodist Church on March 11 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to Gobin United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.
