Cloverdale students excel in solo and ensemble contest

CLOVERDALE -- All 30 Cloverdale Middle School and High School students who participated in the recent Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) solo and ensemble contest received either gold or silver ratings for their performances.

The students who received gold ratings and therefore qualified to compete in the state solo and ensemble contest on Feb. 25 at North Central High School were Makenzie Allen, Ki Hedge, Chloe Mannan, Markus Priest, Ethan Stattner, Jimmy Tate, Evan Williamson and Noah Winings.

The contest is an annual event that gives students the opportunity to perform as a soloist or in small groups. Each performance is heard and evaluated by a judge, who gives comments on how to improve and awards a gold, silver, bronze or participation medal.
