Almost Home to host seventh Youth Philanthropy Night

For the seventh year in a row, a favorite event of the Putnam County Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Committee is approaching.

Almost Home Restaurant will host Youth Philanthropy Night on Thursday, March 2 from 5-9 p.m. Dining participants will enjoy a meal and the pleasure of having Youth Philanthropy Committee members assist servers for the evening.

The event is a community favorite and completely fills the restaurant, so reserve your table by calling Almost Home at 653-5788.

All tips and donations from the evening will go toward building the Putnam County Youth Philanthropy Endowment which provides some of the funding needed for the committee’s grantmaking activities. Since its inception in 2006, the Youth Philanthropy Committee has provided more than $28,000 in funding for almost 60 youth-led projects in Putnam County.

For persons unable to attend but still wishing to support this effort, donations to the Youth Philanthropy Endowment may be made online, by mail or in the Community Foundation office at 2 S. Jackson St., Greencastle.

The Putnam County Youth Philanthropy Committee is comprised of students from each of the county’s four high schools who exhibit leadership and a desire to serve. Members of the 2016-17 Youth Philanthropy Committee are Kaelynn Abner, Whitney Boswell, Lois Cheatham, Ben Gellman, Eric Hinkle, Hannah Long, Lyndi Parent, Braden Pershing, Mary Timm, Madison Trout, Rose White, Annika Whitlock and Ben Wilkerson.
