James "Jim" Roy Grider, 68, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Born Sept. 8, 1948 in Russell Springs, Ky., he was the son of Robert Claude and Pauline (Omar) Grider.

Jim was a auto mechanic, having worked at Beck's Automotive and National Car Sales until his retirement in 2007.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Greencastle.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta B. "Bert" (Williams) Grider; daughter Angela Lynn Miles (companion James Patrick McCoy); brother Steven (Rosemary) Kendall Grider; granddaughters Ashley Lynn Miles and Shelby Ann Miles; great-granddaughter Madison Bell Miles; adopted granddaughter Brittany Lynn Jones; nieces Tammy Kay Noble and Bobbie Sue Mauer; and a nephew, Steven Grider.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Wanda Kay Weesner; a brother, Bobby Grider; and son-in-law, James T. Miles.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at the Amo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
