Jerry Rex Sluder

Mr. Jerry Rex Sluder, 78, Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Feb.27, 2017 at 9:30 p.m. at The Waters nursing home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1939 the son of Claude and Pauline (Wilkes) Sluder, and was a 1959 graduate of Jasonville High School.

Jerry retired from Public Service in Plainfield, now Duke Energy.

Jerry enjoyed playing cards, fishing, boating, camping, dancing and going on vacation with family. He will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Ann (Brown) Sluder; son Tod Sluder of Greencastle; daughter Vicki (Stan) Knotts of Danville; three granddaughters, Dustin Ann Knotts, Bleque Marie Knotts and Jordan Rebecca Knotts; a grandson, Logan Stanley Knotts, all of Danville; four brothers, Jack and Carolyn, Tom and Sue, Claude and Margo and Dennis; and a sister, Marsha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and son Terry Rex Sluder.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 3 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the K&P Cemetery in Hymera.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home
