Curtis Donald Moore

Curtis Donald Moore, 89, of Greencastle, passed away at Hendricks Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

He was born in Putnam County on Feb. 25, 1928 to the late Franklin and Nora (Smock) Moore.

Curtis served his country in the United States Army from 1945 until 1947, upon completion of his military service; he worked for the Greencastle Water Department for 32 years until his retirement in 1993.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 58.

Surviving are two children, Brian Allen Moore and Teresa Ann Miles and husband, Thomas; sister Betty Hurst; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving wife, Wilma Jean Moore, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother Wayne Moore and half-brother Kenneth Smock.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23 from 10 a.m. until noon at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle. Graveside services will follow at 12:15 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
