Bridge reconstruction to close one lane of U.S. 231 beginning next week

A bridge reconstruction project on U.S. 231, four miles north of Greencastle, will close one lane of highway traffic beginning next week, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced.

The project will restrict traffic to one 10-foot lane on the bridge over Jones Creek, beginning Monday, April 3. Traffic will be controlled at the bridge with a traffic signal.

The INDOT project, which was awarded to HIS Constructors for $452,424, is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 31.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
