Registration now open for April computer classes

Friday, March 31, 2017

Putnam County Public Library will be offering four computer classes in April and early May. The computer classes being offered are lecture classes instead of the usual hands-on classes and are designed to introduce patrons to using the Internet.

On Friday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Introduction to the Internet will start right at the beginning and introduce patrons to search engines, browsers and some of the best websites on the Internet.

On Friday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Safety and Security on the Internet will discuss safeguarding your privacy and keeping your computer and information secure while using the Internet.

On Friday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Introduction to Social Networking will introduce patrons to a variety of websites devoted to socializing with others online and discuss ways to protect privacy while enjoying a rich online social life.

On Friday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Introduction to Cloud Computing will introduce patrons to cloud computing, demonstrate free cloud software from Google and Microsoft, and explain why cloud computing is the way the world will be using computers in the future.

All classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited. Classes are two hours long with a break.

To sign up for any of the upcoming classes, view the library website at PCPL21.org, call Mike at 653-2755 Ext. 118, or stop by the library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.
