PHOENIX —Collin Sexton of Mableton Ga., Chasity Patterson of Houston and Victor Bailey Jr. of Austin, Texas won their respective events on Friday at the 2017 American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships.

The seventh annual event featured 24 of the nation’s top high school basketball players entertaining a packed gym of students at Greenway High School in Phoenix.

This year’s contest will air at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday on CBS-TV.

Cloverdale’s Cooper Neese was the leader after the first round of the 3-point competition with 19 points, but fell off to 13 points in the second round and did not advance to the finals.

Trae Young of Norman, Okla, and Sexton had the two best scores after the second round, with Sexton winning the head-to-head finals by an 18-15 margin.

Neese was traveling back to Indiana on Friday and was unavailable. A full summary of his experiences in Arizona will be in Monday’s Banner Graphic.
