Police investigate weekend Madison Township home invasion

Monday, April 3, 2017

A Madison Township couple was held at gunpoint early Sunday morning as four masked individuals robbed their home.

Detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department have few details aside from an address, an approximate time and the number of suspects, all of whom were wearing masks and gloves.

Det. Sgt. Pat McFadden told the Banner Graphic investigators believe the incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, when four people, all armed, forced their way through the front door at 6837 West Walnut St.

They held the couple at gunpoint for close to an hour ransacking the house before making away with an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables.

McFadden said as of Monday afternoon the residents were still going through their home to determine what was missing.

There is no vehicle description nor any specific descriptions of the perpetrators.

Anyone who may have seen something out of the ordinary in the area on Sunday morning or with any other information is asked to contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.
