Clara Mae Dawes Sanders

Clara Mae Dawes Sanders, 92, of Zionsville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the Meadows Nursing Facility.

Born March 26, 1925 in Fillmore, she was the daughter of Carl Elliott and Hazel (Hunt) Elliott.

She married Claude Dawes, and he preceded her in death. She remarried to Ed Sanders and he also preceded her in death.

Clara graduated from Amo High School in 1943 and worked as a manager for the Indiana License Branch in Danville.

Survivors include a son, Carl (Sue) Dawes, Avon; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded by her parents, husbands, daughters Claudia Colyer and Mildred Johnson, brother Raymond Pritchett and sisters Maxine Cox and Alberta Miller.

Services are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at Bousley Funeral Home in Coatesville with Pastor Shelly Zook officiating.

Calling will be Sunday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery.
