Severn Records recording artist, singer/harmonica player and Greencastle resident Tad Robinson will take the stage at Wasser Brewing Co. at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 22.

Many local music fans are aware of Robinson’s work. His roots-music profile is firmly established through his recorded work, his eight Blues Music Award nominations (the Grammys of the blues world), and his touring which has taken him throughout the U.S. and to more than 25 countries in three continents over his career.

For his 8-10:30 p.m. show at Wasser, 102 N. Franklin St., Greencastle, Robinson will be joined by keyboardist Kevin Anker on piano.

Anker’s appearance gives the local audience an opportunity to hear one of the most versatile and important members of the modern international blues scene. Whether playing blues, jazz, soul, rock or R&B, Anker has performed, toured, composed, sequenced, produced, engineered and recorded for a variety of artists both nationally and internationally, including a long relationship with roots music label, Maryland-based Severn Records. He is also the author of several books on studio engineering.

Anker recently co-produced and played keys on albums by The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bryan Lee, Darrell Nulisch and Ursula Ricks, and his work can be heard on Robinson’s last three albums.

In addition to being a much-in-demand session musician, Anker maintains a busy live touring schedule as a member of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robinson’s band and by working with other artists such as Delbert McClinton, Gordon Bonham and Seth Walker.

The lineup at Wasser will include drummer, Jeff Chapin.
