Sherry Cox

Sherry Cox, 61, Greencastle, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

She was born in Putnam County on May 31, 1955 to the late Robert and Pauline (Keyt) Slavens.

Sherry went to Greencastle High School, and later married Ron Cox on July 21, 1972.

She worked for Putnam County Operation Life for 30 years.

Sherry enjoyed doing ceramics, cooking, baking and loved to take care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle who raised her, Gilbert and Eva Blotch, as well as her brother, Brian Robbins.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Cox, Greencastle; sons, Jamie Cox, Greencastle, Jason (Michelle) Cox, Greencastle, and Dustin Cox, Greencastle; brothers Terry Slavens, Lafayette, Roger (Kim) Slavens, Jacksonville, Fla., and Steve (Peggy) Robbins, Hanover, Pa.; sisters Summer (Tom) Woodruff, Lafayette, Pam (David) Moyer, Milton, Ind., and Tracey (Kim) Holt, Westpoint, Ind.; special cousin Ron (Shannon) Blotch, Franklin; grandchildren Arika (Nathan Peck) Cox and Megan Cox; and great-granddaughter Daisy Cox.

A celebration of Sherry’s life is planned for 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Harris Hall on the Putnam County Fairgrounds..

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
