PCCF’s Share the Dream: Donate to help charities win $5,000

Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Ten local charitable organizations will be participating in the Putnam County Community Foundation’s (PCCF) Share the Dream contest this year.

The contest offers cash prizes to the top three organizations raising the most money for their endowment between May 1 and Aug. 31.

The top three will split $5,000, and organizations can choose to use the funds for immediate operations or add it to their endowment where it can grow.

Funds participating are:

-- Bainbridge High School Alumni Scholarship

-- Fillmore High School Alumni Association Scholarship

-- Greencastle High School Alumni Scholarship

-- Greencastle Kiwanis Endowment

-- North Putnam Alumni Association School Support Endowment

-- Purdue Club of Putnam County Scholarship

-- Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship

-- Putnam County Fairgrounds Endowment

-- Putnam County Public Library Endowment/Cyril Johnson Local History and Genealogy Fund

-- Reelsville Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department Endowment

Each of these 10 endowments will be featured individually in an upcoming edition of the Banner Graphic.

Persons can donate to their favorite endowment by cash, check, online, stock, real property, life insurance, IRA distributions and more. Make checks payable to PCCF, write the name of the endowment on the memo line and mail to 2 S. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135.

“These endowments make a difference in Putnam County, both today and in the future,” Elaine Peck, executive director of the Community Foundation, said. “As they grow, their impact grows. In 20 years, an endowment administered by the Putnam County Community Foundation will have nearly doubled in size and distributed more than was originally contributed.”
