Maxine McCammack

Maxine McCammack, 78, of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Born Oct. 4, 1938 in Putnam County, the daughter of Dennis "Smokey" and Eva (McCullough) Goodpaster and attended Belle Union High School.

Maxine had been a cook with the Belle Union High School and DePauw University for several years and retired from the Putnam County Clerk's Office.

She was a member of the Hanna St. Baptist Church and loved to help with the Belle Union Fish Fry and attend the Lonestar 25-year dinner.

She is survived by her sons, Randy McCammack and Rodney McCammack; a daughter, Trudy (Ron) Dickerson; brother, Mike (Trudy) Goodpaster; four grandchildren, Rachael (Shane) Thomas, Adam (Amanda) McCammack, Amanda (Jason) Prunkard and Michelle Beller; six great-grandchildren, Cauy, Trace and Erin Thomas, Lilly and Ivy Beller, and Nathan Prunkard; and a niece and three nephews, she considered as her own grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William "Willie" McCammack, and her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, May 15 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
