Mary E. (Taylor) Allen

Mary E. (Taylor) Allen, 83, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

She was born to Clarence O. and Violet Zella (Smith) Taylor on Dec. 26, 1933 in Columbus.

She graduated from Columbus High School in 1951.

She married Roy H. Allen on Oct. 30, 1953.

Mary was a proud homemaker, school bus driver for Decatur Township schools in Indianapolis for nine years and bookkeeper for Custom Contractors in Indianapolis for 14 years.

She was a member of Mooresville Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards with family and friends.

Mary is survived by five loving children, Teresa (Russell) Fry of Daytona Beach, Fla., Myra (Dennis) Walker of Plainfield, Janet (Sam) Davis of Mooresville, Pat (Anna) Allen of Camby and Randy (Lori) Allen of Cloverdale; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Downing of Edinburgh; and a daughter-in-law, Kathie Allen of Greenwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Mark Allen; two sisters, Eva Knopp and Anna Plummer; and two brothers, Warren and Robert Taylor.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 15 and 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.

Ron Roberts will officiate the celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16 at the funeral home.
