Robert Lee Dortch

Robert Lee Dortch, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his residence.

Robert was born in Madison County, Ill., on July 24, 1947, the son of Orman and Martha (Patterson) Dortch.

He attended Granite City High School in Illinois.

Mr. Dortch earned his master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Illinois State University. He taught math at Mclean County Schools in Normal, Ill., for 33 years, and was the golf coach there for more than 15 years.

Robert was an avid golfer, car enthusiast and had a passion for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Roberta Dortch; two sons, Ronald Dortch, Naples, Fla., and Roger Dortch, Greencastle; as well as two granddaughters, Sydney and Zoey Doan, both of Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gerald W. Dortch.

Per his wishes there will be no visitation or services.

A private family burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ft Myers, Fla., at a later date.
