Ivy Tech enrolling now for June and August classes with events in Greencastle, Avon

Monday, May 15, 2017

Ivy Tech Community College is hosting events Friday, May 18 at its Greencastle Campus to enroll students for summer and fall classes.

There is still time to register for summer classes, which begin the week of June 5. Many online options are available.

Summer classes are also open to students at four-year universities who are home for the summer. Students can take a class on campus or online and transfer the credits back to their home college or university, taking advantage of Ivy Tech's low tuition rates and small class sizes.

The Express Enrollment Events are set for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at the Greencastle Campus (915 S. Zinc Mill Rd.) and at the Avon site (7508 Beechwood Centre Rd.) on Thursday, May 18. Learn more about the events and RSVP at www.ivytech.edu/enrollmentday.

These events help prospective students complete their enrollment steps and register for classes. At the event, attendees can meet with Ivy Tech representatives and receive assistance with application, financial aid, assessment and advising, as well as scheduling new student orientation.

To meet the assessment requirement, attendees can bring in their SAT/ACT/PSAT scores, high school transcript, college transcript, or take an assessment called the ACCUPLACER if needed.

Programs offered at the Greencastle Campus include the General Education Transfer Core, which transfers to four-year institutions, Practical Nursing, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Human Services and Supply Chain Management/Logistics.

Students can earn their degree in these programs or take other classes that can be applied toward degrees at other Ivy Tech campuses. The campus offers admissions, advising, assessment, bookstore, financial aid, bursar, testing center and free tutoring.

Ivy Tech's Avon site offers a variety of general education courses including English, psychology, math, business and more. These courses transfer to degrees at other Ivy Tech campuses and to four-year colleges and universities.

Ivy Tech Community College is the state's largest public postsecondary institution and the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college system.
