South Putnam plans youth, middle school football camps

South Putnam will have its middle school football camp on June 26-29 from 6-8 p.m.

Coach Nathan Aker and his staff will be installing offensive and defensive formations, plays, and teaching the fundamentals during this camp.

Cost is $25, which includes a practice pack (T-shirt, shorts and mouthpiece) and camp photograph.

Make checks payable to “South Putnam Athletics,” and return to coach Aker at South Putnam High School.

Eagles set dates for youth camps

South Putnam will have its fourth annual youth football camp for students entering grades K-6 next fall from July 10-13 from 6-8 p.m. each day.

The camp will be led emphasize proper football fundamentals such as blocking. USA Heads Up tackling, Hawk Tackling, receiving, passing, ball security, long snapping, kicking, punting and what coach Nathan Aker considers the most important facets – leadership and character development.

The camp will be at South Putnam’s Mark Wildman Field, and the cost is $25 – which includes a camp T-shirt and a team picture. Students are to dress in shorts and a T-shirt, and should bring both football shoes and tennis shoes (in case of bad weather).
