The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced the winners of its 2017 Give Local Putnam County Day event. The North Putnam Alumni Association won first place and was awarded $1,000. Clinton Township Scholarship won second place receiving $500 which it is placing into its endowment.

Hosted by the Putnam County Community Foundation, Give Local Putnam County is a 24-hour, online giving event that is held annually on the first Tuesday in May. Through this event 12 funds received gifts from a total of 46 donors. The gifts will increase their endowments and help further their missions.

Evans Memorial, Cyril Johnson Fund, Sharon Evans Central Elementary School and Dietrich Jackson Memorial.

“We are very pleased that we had over 10 new donors through the Give Local Day event this year,” Elaine Peck, executive director of the Community Foundation, said. “While on-line donation is always available, this is a great way to spotlight how easy it is for donors to support the charities about which they are passionate. We look forward to awarding more prizes at the completion of Share the Dream (which ends Aug. 31).”

Bainbridge High School Alumni Association, Putnam County Board of Realtors, Greencastle High School Alumni Association, North Putnam Alumni Association, Purdue Club of Putnam County, Putnam County Fairgrounds, Fillmore High School Alumni Scholarship, Putnam County Public Library, Reelsville Washington Twp. VFD, Kiwanis and Main Street Greencastle are all participating in Share the Dream 2017, the Community Foundation’s annual fundraising competition.

Persons who want to help support a charity they are passionate about are urged to donate today.

The Putnam County Foundation, a nonprofit public charity established in 1985, has been entrusted with more than 279 funds and endowments for donors, supporting a variety of charitable purposes.
