Monday, June 5

• Imagination Portal Unplugged, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Enjoy the Imagination Portal without monitors, video games or music in the background.

• Author’s Talk: Rosemary Gard, 12-1 p.m.: Brown-bag lunch talk and hear Rosemary Gard speak about her historical novels.

• STEAM Monday, 2-3 p.m.: A summer reading event for children 8-12. Tinker, make and create at the library on Mondays. Explore arts and crafts, simple circuits, chemistry and more. Each week will feature a different project.

• Community Help Desk, 2-4 p.m.: A computer technician will be available to help repair electronics. Most problems solved in 20 minutes or referred to a professional.

• Plarning, 6-8 p.m.: Build a Better World through plarning. Plarning is the process of crocheting recycled plastic bags into mats for the homeless. PCPL is partnering with the Creative Change Project for this program.

Tuesday, June 6

• Baby and Me, 10-10:30 a.m.: Sing songs, read stories, play with toys, talk, and laugh with your baby. For Early Talkers (newborns to two years).

• Community Help Desk, 4-7 p.m.

• Based on the Book: Movie Night, 5:30-8 p.m.: The Based on the Book: Movie Night book club will be discussing “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley, following the presentation of the related, 2016 movie. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library and for purchase at the reference desk.

• Learn to Play Mah Jongg, 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday, June 7

• Mah Jongg Game, 12:30-3 p.m.: For all players who know the game (not the computer version), but newcomers are welcome to watch and learn.

• Ancient Practices for Modern Healing, 4:30-6 p.m: “Introduction to Ancient Techniques,” including ayurved, healing touch, reiki and vibrational medicine. Learn self-pulse/body type diagnosis, breathing, meditation and energy-based self-healing techniques, which will be reviewed and practiced during each successive session.

• Learn to Crochet, 6-7:30 p.m.

• Time Travelin’ Genealogy Guild, 6-7 p.m.: Join a group of local family history gurus to learn tips and tricks, share stories, and discover new resources.

Thursday, June 8

• Community Help Desk, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Toddler Time, 10-10:30 a.m.: Sing songs, hear stories and nursery rhymes, move around to music and action songs, and make a craft. Ages 1-2 year olds.

• Preschool Storytime, 11-11:45 a.m.: Hear theme-based stories, move around and sing action songs, make a craft, and have a small snack. Ages 3-5 year olds.

• Bridge for Everyone, 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Come to an open bridge game every Thursday afternoon in the Kiwanis room. All are invited regardless of skill level. This group will be facilitated by Dorothy Brown. For questions, contact Barbara Timm at btimm@PCPL21.org.

• Yarn Perch, 5-8 pm.: Need crochet help or companionship? Jo MacPhail will take her Yarn Perch (on the balcony above the lobby) every Thursday evening.

• LibrarYoga, 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Free Yoga sessions for all skill levels led by certified yoga instructors every Thursday evening. Participants should wear comfy, stretchy clothes. Yoga mats, blocks, and straps are available for your use.
