ParkFest to feature Blues Side Up

Friday, June 9, 2017

Music lovers are encouraged to attend the next ParkFest free summer concert on Tuesday, June 13 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Robe-Ann Park in Greencastle.

After the recent success of local favorites like Gus Moon and Him and Her at last week’s ParkFest, the Greencastle Civic League has invited Blues Side Up to the stage next.

Wood-fired pizza from Anthony’s New York Style Pizzeria will also be on site for hungry patrons.

Featuring the musical experience of Steve St. Pierre on guitar and vocals, Jonathan January on flute, bass guitar and vocals, Dennis Rivers on drums and vocals and Mike Rolle on guitar and vocals, Blues Side Up enjoys jamming out with both electric and acoustic performances. Their songs -- both originals and covers -- feature rock ‘n’ roll and blues rock.

Collectively, the band has played locally, regionally and nationally. Member St. Pierre, co-owner of All-American Karate Academy and Fitness, started playing guitar at the age of 12 and went on to open for REO Speedwagon, Head East, Cheap Trick, Starcastle and Styx while still in high school.

As Greencastle rocks on into the summer, upcoming ParkFest acts include Corey Leiter and Saturday Shoes on June 20, and Dominick Rivers on June 27.
