PCPL to launch Pup Tales Saturday

Monday, June 12, 2017

The Putnam County Public Library will launch Pup Tales, its first-ever read-to-a-dog program, on Saturday, June 17 at 1 p.m.

The program is part of the larger Putnam Adult Literacy Services (PALS) program set to launch in August.

PALS Pups is a group of four library staff members and their dog volunteers, who have undergone extensive training and been certified as Canine Good Citizens by the American Kennel Club.

Persons may sign up for a 10-minute reading session by inquiring at the circulation desk or calling the library at 653-2755.

The program will recur monthly to provide a non-judgemental audience for self-conscious or reluctant readers of all ages.

Meet the PALS Pups and learn more about Pup Tales by visiting them at the second annual Fuzzy Friday on June 16 from 5-7 p.m.
