Upon arrival, Deputy Jeffery Freeman observed about 300 feet of tire marks on the road and in the grass. Impact cause heavy damage to the front end of the truck and to the pole.

Freeman observed that Gordon had been drinking and upon transport to Putnam County Hospital, he tested at .244 blood alcohol content.

After treatment for facial bleeding, Gordon was taken to Putnam County Hospital and booked in at 11:08 p.m. for operating while intoxicated.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

• At 9:42 p.m. on Thursday, Steven M. Noud, 53, Quincy, was eastbound on State Road 240 east of Chadd Valley in a 2017 Volvo semi pulling a trailer.

Noud told Deputy Riley Houghton his back passenger side trailer tires traveled off the road, causing the rest of his semi to be pulled off the road.

The semi then made impact with a telephone pole, breaking the pole and downing power lines in the road.

Houghton reported the asphalt is new in the area and there is no shoulder.

Fillmore Fire Department and Duke Energy responded to the scene to take care of the power lines.

For safety reasons, SR 240 was closed between Fillmore Road and State Road 75 until around 5 a.m.

The tractor and trailer were towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 4:33 p.m. on Thursday, Andrea J. Williams, 44, Brazil, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2005 GMC Sierra when a deer ran across the road.

Williams told Deputy Houghton a northbound vehicle hit the deer, which threw the animal into her lane. She could not avoid the collision.
