Runners and walkers take off Saturday evening from Deer Meadow Primary School in the fourth annual Camo America Rainbow Run (CARR) put on by Makenzie Carr’s A Kinetic Change effort in memory of her late brother Keith Carr.

Results of fourth annual CARR Run

The fourth annual Camo America Rainbow Run (CARR) put on Makenzie Carr’s A Kinetic Change effort was run Saturday evening, starting at Deer Meadow Primary School in Greencastle.

The race is run annually in the memory of Keith Carr, brother of Makenzie and son of Julie and Mark Carr, Greencastle, who died five years ago Sunday duirng a college trip abroad to Italy.

The race had 94 timed runners and walkers, and many others involved (probably more than 150 total).

The results were:

*Top 3 Females

1. Claudia Monnett (overall winner, won last year also), 21:10.

2. Makenzie Carr, 23:40.

3. Jane Best, 27:27.

Top 3 Males

1. Drew Brattain, 21:20.

2. John Paul, 21:23.

3. Neil Campbell, 22:25.

Top 3 Youth Finishers 12 and Under

1. Charlie Menzel (won last year also), 23:03.

2. Gurnon Cyrus, 31:07.

3. Wilson Hecko, 33:50.

Among the colorful cast of characters completing the race were 13-year-old Carter Brown (bottom left), earning the costume award for being “camouflaged” as a hotdog.

Costume Awards

Most Camouflaged: Carter Brown.

Most Patriotic: Boyd Ensley (won last year also).

Most Colorful: Elys Ensley (won last year also).

Best Combination of themes: Rebecca Howard and Stephen Hamilton.
