County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 10:18 p.m. Anthony Mark Brown, 32, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail as a habitual traffic violator.

• At 9:27 p.m. Nqobizitha N’Cube, 32, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and failure to appear.

• At 8:35 p.m. Sharon Kay Montgomery, 43, Greencastle, was arrested for failure to appear.

• At 8:31 p.m. Samuel Adam Blackburn, 39, Hope, was housed at the jail for failure to appear.

• At 1:10 p.m. Dakota Alexander Kiste, 19, Reelsville, was charged with domestic battery.

• At 9:55 a.m. Justin D. Hodges, 37, Greencastle, was booked in as a habitual traffic violator.

• At 5:31 a.m. Danny Ray Martin, 34, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for criminal trespass.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:03 p.m. Tuesday, Logan Michael Galloway, 18, Greencastle, was arrested at an East Hanna Street residence by Officer Alec Pettit.

Arrested on a Putnam County warrant for resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and visiting a common nuisance, Galloway was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Two citations were issued to a local driver who was stopped at North Jackson and Liberty streets, police reported.

Michelle Paul, 44, Greencastle, received a summons for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for having an expired license plate.

She was ticketed at 3:45 p.m. Monday by Officer Nick Eastham.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage accident.

• At 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Stephen Sechman, 76, Bainbridge, was eastbound on U.S. 36, just east of County Road 500 East, in a 1997 GMC pickup.

Lt. Donnie Pettit reported that for an unknown reason, Sechman lost control of the truck and veered across the westbound lanes before leaving the roadway. The truck hit an embankment and overturned.

Operation Life transported Sechman from the scene with neck pain.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to six dispatches, two medical runs and one lift assist.

• At 12:58 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD assisted officers from the Greencastle Police Department in the removal of fluids and debris from the roadway after a minor motor-vehicle accident at 1750 Indianapolis Rd. GFD returned to station at 1:11 p.m.

• At 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD performed a smoke investigation near the intersection of Vale Street and Crescent Drive. GFD was unable to detect a problem, however, returning to station at 9:19 p.m.

• At 9:39 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 413 S. Locust St. GFD reset the alarm and subsequently returned to station at 9:52 p.m.

• At 9:52 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 522 Anderson St. after receiving reports of a strange odor in the air. GFD monitored the air but was unable to detect any issues. GFD then returned to station at 10:25 p.m.

• At 7:41 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 110 E. Larrabee St. The alarm was determined to have been activated unnecessarily due to ongoing maintenance efforts nearby. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 7:51 a.m.

• At 6:11 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of arcing power lines in the area of 915 E. Washington St. GFD secured the area and contacted Duke Energy. GFD later returned to station at 6:30 p.m.
