Seven-year-old Macey Hazlett, daughter of Jason and Sara Hazlett, Cloverdale, gets right into the teeth of the action, resting on the snowplow blade of “Big Bertha,” a Putnam County Highway Department truck already outfitted for the winter.

Banner Graphic/ERIC BERNSEE Meanwhile, enjoying the Abate of Indiana Children’s Motorcycle Adventure, four-year-old Kaiya Monnett, daughter of Scott and Laurie Monnett of Greencastle, gets a little guidance from Abate member Terry White as she rides ahead of Hunter Summitt (red shirt), 6, and Lane Kortz (blue shirt), 9. Hunter is the son of Cayla Summitt, Greencastle, while Kortz is a nephew spending the summer here from Arlington, Texas.
