Donald James 'Jim' Alexander

Donald James "Jim" Alexander, 83, of Greencastle, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Jim was born the son of Ruby Alexander White on May 23, 1934 in Jutson, Ind.

He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Martha Margaret and Harry Alexander.

He married Dorothy Mae Farnsworth in 1953. Jim and Dorothy provided a loving home for many foster children over the years.

He was a lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene and served as a minister in the Nazarene Church for 15 plus years. After retirement he and his wife Dorothy continued his ministry with his daughter Lisa and her family, serving as evangelist for four years.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; mother, Ruby; grandparents Martha and Harry; and son-in-law Joseph Hueston.

He is survived by his five children, Ted (Barb) Alexander, Jane Hueston, Jim (Marisol) Alexander, Lisa Alexander and Robin (Curtis Daley) Alexander-Daley; sisters, Margaret Crooks and Betty Jane Bedwell; a brother, Keith Alexander; 19 grandchildren, Steven (Natlia), David (Melissa), Trisha, Billy (Jaye), Jamie, Natalie, Henya Bray, Manuela, Ashley, Teresa, James (Erin), Tiounia, Storn, Curtis "CJ"and Suray; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30 at the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene, 580 S. CR 100 East, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29 at the church from 6-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. Friday until time of service.
