Summer Reading Fun at Cloverdale Elementary School

Sunday, July 2, 2017

The Cloverdale Community School Board was able to offer a Summer Reading Program for elementary students in grades 1-4 through a grant awarded by Duke Energy.

The program was three weeks of reading, learning and fun from May 30-June 16. Students and teachers focused on improving basic reading and comprehension skills through individualized online reading interventions, small group reading interactions and individual and one-to-one activities.

On the last day of the program, students showcased what they had learned by making class presentations of projects, reading strategies and through a readers theater. Each student was also awarded a gift bag with a certificate, goodies and books purchased through the grant.

Cloverdale Community Schools expressed appreciation for the educational support and partnership from companies such as Duke Energy.
