Gleaners Mobile Pantry at Greencastle Christian Church lot

The Gleaners Senior Mobile Pantry will return to Greencastle on Thursday, July 6, however, a week earlier than usual and at a different location this month due to National Guard activity at the Armory.

The mobile pantry will be located in the lower parking lot of Greencastle Christian Church, 620 Primrose Lane (off the east side of U.S. 231 South).

The food giveaway, open only to seniors age 55 and older, will be conducted outside rain or shine from 10-11:30 a.m.

Participants are asked not to arrive before 9:30 a.m. There will be no chairs in which to sit and wait, so persons should stay in their cars until the giveaway is ready to begin.

Besides being 55 and older, participants must also be Putnam County residents in order to participate in the food giveaway.

Those taking part should bring their own sacks or boxes and provide identification to verify eligibility.

Gleaners normally conducts the senior food giveaway on the second Thursday of each month in Greencastle at the Armory.

The location change is only for this month. The Gleaners truck should be back at the Greencastle Armory in August on its regular date.
