Purdue Club announces scholarship winners at annual golf outing

The Purdue Club of Putnam County recently announced its scholarship recipients. These awards are available to Putnam County students who attend Purdue University.

The four students receiving scholarships of $750 each are Allacyn Arnold, a 2015 South Putnam graduate, now a Purdue junior majoring in pharmacy; Nathan Gobert, a 2017 Greencastle graduate, now a Purdue freshman who will major in engineering; Lyndi Parent, a 2017 North Putnam graduate, now a Purdue freshman who will major in pre-medicine; and Alexandria Weliever, a 2017 Greencastle graduate, now a Purdue freshman who will major in engineering.

The Purdue Club also administers the Barbara and Edward Brookshire Purdue scholarship for Putnam County students who major in an agriculture-related field.

Two students who received awards of $925 each are Megan Arnold, a 2016 South Putnam graduate, now a Purdue sophomore majoring in agri-business; and Heather Goss, a 2014 Cloverdale graduate, now a Purdue senior majoring in ag education and crop science.

Scholarships were first awarded in 2002, and since that time the club has awarded 49 scholarships for a total of $30,000.
