City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 8 a.m. Friday, Arlo Paletis, 33, Terre Haute, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Paletis was arrested on the Putnam County Courthouse square on Vigo County warrants for conversion and criminal trespass.

Three recent summons were issued by City Police officers.

• At 2:22 p.m. Thursday, Maxine Louvens, 84, Brazil, was cited by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Stopped at Bloomington and Anderson streets, Louvens was ticketed for being an operator never licensed.

• At 8:21 a.m. Thursday, Justin Stovall, 49, Greencastle, was cited for possession of marijuana by Officer Lee.

Stopped at Bloomington and Hanna streets after the report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, Stovall was issued a summons into court on the charge and released from the scene.

• At 2:16 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, Kyle Fisher, 23, Fillmore, was cited by Officer Lee.

Stopped at Northwood Boulevard and Highwood Avenue, Fisher was issued a summons for infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three dispatches and two medical runs.

• At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to reports of an electrical fire at 1009 Avenue F. No fire was found, however, though GFD installed a smoke detector to prevent false alarms in the future and the resident was instructed to contact his or her landlord. GFD subsequently returned to station at 4:01 p.m.

• At 6:54 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to reports of a motor-vehicle accident with injury just north of the intersection of U.S. 231 and County Road 100 North. GFD assisted in the removal of debris and fluids from the roadway, as well as assisted in medical care of the injured passenger before transfering patient care to Operation Life. GFD then returned to station at 7:25 p.m.

• At 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 412 S. Jackson St. No fire was found upon arrival and the alarm had since been deactivated. Officers from the DePauw Police Department were present and had resolved the situation. GFD returned to station at 7:32 p.m.
