Greencastle coed softball league starting registration

The 2017 Rokicki Foundation Coed Softball League in Greencastle is taking registrations for its upcoming season.

The program will play traditional Amateur Softball Association coed rules with a single round-robin league schedule. Teams will then be split into divisions based upon records for a double-elimination tournament to end the season.

Men will hit a 12-inch softball and women will hit an 11-inch ball.

Teams will play two games per week on Monday or Tuesday and then on Wednesday or Thursday at either Robe-Ann or Big Walnut Sports Parks.

One umpire will be assigned per game until the championship games of the tournament.

Teams will have a 12-game guarantee. Entry fee is $440 per team, and the deadline to register is at 4 p.m. on Aug. 18.

The captain’s meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 at City Hall.

The league is limited to the first 12 teams with paid registration.

Opening night is tentatively set for Aug. 28.
