County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 5:05 a.m. Shellie Ann Todd, 36, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated-refusal and leaving the scene of an accident.

Saturday

• At 7:15 p.m. Charles Wesley Richard Powell, 29, Cloverdale, was arrested for battery, intimidation, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and on a Marion County warrant.

• At 12:50 a.m. Jeremy Wayne Rader, 35, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant and for driving with a suspended license.

Friday

• At 9:32 p.m. Robert D. Dziedzic, 43, Manchester, Ct., was housed at the jail for dealing in marijuana and possession of marijuana.

• At 7:05 p.m. Dustin Todd Barber, 27, Quincy, was charged with auto theft.

• At 5:54 p.m. Angelica Annette White, 35, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 5:23 p.m. Timothy Joe Etter, 23, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

• At 4:38 p.m. Brandon Curtis Clem, 32, Sullivan, was a taken into custody on a hold for another county.

• At 10:01 a.m. Stuart Andrew Hunter, 53, Coatesville, was arrested for driving while intoxicated-refusal.

• At 4:43 a.m. Kennth Robert Pritchett, 23, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage crashes.

• At 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Laurie L. Laughlin, 42, Worthington, Ohio, was eastbound on Interstate 70 around the 30-mile marker in a 2008 Mercury Mariner.

Laughlin told Deputy Jeffery Freeman a semi veered into her lane and hit her vehicle.

The vehicle sustained moderate rear-end damage but was driven from the scene.

Laughlin could not provide identifying information on the semi that hit her.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 11 a.m. on Friday, Madison N. Egold, 21, Cloverdale, was eastbound on State Road 240 in a 2005 Pontiac G6.

Egold told Capt. Tom Helmer she was trying to round a curve when she drove right of the fog line and into loose gravel on a deep shoulder, causing her to lose control.

Egold was able to steer back onto the road, but the vehicle slid across both lanes and entered a yard on the north side of the road, hitting a tree.

The car then spun around and came to rest about 20 feet form the tree.

Egold was not injured.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches and three lift assists.

• At 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to reports of a motorcycle accident in the area of County Road 100 E. approximately one-half mile north of Crowe’s Bridge. GFD saw to the patient’s care until paramedics were able to arrive. GFD subsequently turned over care of the patient to the paramedics before returning to station at 7:18 p.m.

• At 7:33 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to reports of an electrical shortage at 42 W. Sunset Dr. The owner of the residence advised GFD upon arrival that the power had already been shut off after the family had observed sparks coming from an interior light. Due to shutting off the power, GFD was unable to perform any tests. The residents were advised to contact their electricity provider and returned to station at 7:46 a.m.
