Van overturns in Thursday crash

Several local agencies respond to a personal injury crash at the intersection of Interstate 70 and U.S. 231 in Cloverdale Thursday morning. One driver was transported to Putnam County Hospital for complaints of pain, and the other received minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

CLOVERDALE -- Several local agencies responded to a personal injury crash at the intersection of Interstate 70 and U.S. 231 in Cloverdale Thursday morning.

Jeremiah Wagner, of Poland, was entering Interstate 70 in a 2004 Chevy commercial van when he failed to yield to Jacqueline Minnick, of Cloverdale, who was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 1998 Buick Regal.

Operation Life transported Minnick to Putnam County Hospital for complaints of pain. Wagner had minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.

Cloverdale Town Marshal Steve Hibler estimated damage to each vehicle at $5,000 - $10,000.

Other responders were Investigator Rick Lambert of the Cloverdale Police Department, Captain Tom Helmer of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department and Randy Patrick of Putnam County Animal Control, who happened to be driving by and helped direct traffic.
