Body found on Washington Township road

REELSVILLE — Police are investigating a death in Washington Township after a man’s body was found in the road early Thursday morning.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the body was discovered near the intersection of county roads 525 West and 1100 South, about a quarter mile south of Interstate 70.

Police have identified the man but his name is not being released at this time. No cause of death has been determined but an autopsy was scheduled Thursday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing by PCSD, the Putnam County Coroner’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
