Progress En Route

Thursday, August 24, 2017
Awarded to Terre Haute-based Keymark Construction and Development in May for $2.5 million, the upcoming GCSC Transportation Facility is seeing major progress during the late summer months. With goals to complete construction of two buildings at the Tennessee Street location by Christmas break, GCSC Superintendent Jeff Hubble and others are eager to utilize the facility and move on from the nearly 100-year-old quonset huts on North Vine Street. Furthermore, while Keymark is overseeing the construction and development of the facilities, crews from Spiker Excavating are also present, widening preoperty’s entrance (below, left). The buildings comprise an office facility with a small maintenance shop and a much larger building meant to shelter every vehicle owned by GCSC.
