County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 2:36 a.m. Taureen Kyron Terry, 35, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for criminal trespass at the Phillips 66 station in Greencastle.

Tuesday

• At 11:58 p.m. Susan Nicole Fox, 31, Greencastle, was taken into custody for public intoxication.

• At 9:59 p.m. Ricky Martin Dwinell, 55, Gosport, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:38 p.m. Michael David Campbell, 30, Rosedale, was booked in on a local warrant for theft and for driving with a suspended license.

• At 4:40 p.m. Jeffery Wayne Burger, 55, Bainbridge, was lodged at the jail for failure to register as a sex or violent offender.

City Police

Five traffic citations were issued recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Jamie Siddons, 26, Knightsville, was ticketed for speeding by Capt. Chris Jones.

Siddons, who was stopped on Percy Julian Drive near Avenue F, was cited for 35 mph in a 20-mph school zone.

• At 9:59 a.m. Thursday, Michael Johnson, 42, Brazil, was cited for speeding by Capt. Jones.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive near Avenue F, Johnson was ticketed for 40 mph in a 20-mph school zone.

• At 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Katlynn Bullock, 19, Brazil, was ticketed for speeding by Capt. Jones.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive near Avenue F, Bullock was cited for 35 mph in a 20-mph school zone.

• At 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Donald Bishop, 31, Fillmore, was cited for driving left of center.

Bishop was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham on State Road 240 in front of Ascena.

• At 6:17 a.m. Wednesday, Franklin Birchfield, 41, Terre Haute, was ticketed for speeding by Officer Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Birchfield, was cited for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 5:19 p.m. on Wednesday, Michael B. Crossman, 18, Greencastle, was pulling out of the QwikMart Marathon at U.S. 231 and U.S. 40, attempting to turn left onto northbound 231 in a 2004 Buick Ranier.

As he pulled out, Crossman’s vehicle hit the passenger side of a 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by Maurice L. Rust, 75, Sioux Falls, S.D. Rust was southbound in the left turn lane.

Crossman’s vehicle was towed.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000.
