Raccoon Lake area theft case results in three arrests

HOLLANDSBURG -- Members of the Parke County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence near Raccoon Lake Aug. 22 to investigate possible possession of stolen property. While at the residence, officers located a stolen Ford F-150 taken on July 22 from New Start Motors near Raccoon Lake.

Deputies also recovered a stolen gray utility trailer taken from rural Rockville on Aug. 20.

Deputies also found methamphetamine and paraphernalia inside the residence.

Jason Bishop, 40, of Indianapolis was arrested and charged with auto theft, two counts of theft, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Stephen Wilkes, 54, of Rockville, was arrested and charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Michelle Horton, 42, of Indianapolis, was arrested and charged with maintaining a common nuisance.

A stolen dump trailer, taken from Ace Hardware in Rockville on Aug. 5, was located in the Coatesville area Wednesday as a result of the investigation.

The Putnam, Clay and Hendricks county sheriff’s offices assisted in the recovery of the dump trailer.
