Nobel Laureate at DePauw

Monday, September 4, 2017
Ahead of her Monday night Ubben Lecture on the DePauw University campus, 2014 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai speaks in a DePauw classroom earlier in the day. A Pakistani schoolgirl whose bravery and activism for female education made her the youngest-ever Nobel recipient, Malala was shot and critically injured by the Taliban as a 15-year-old in 2012 while traveling home from school on the bus with her friends. Now less than two months past her 20th birthday, Malala is a peer to the students she met on Monday and became the youngest-ever Ubben lecturer. A full account of her lecture will appear Tuesday on bannergraphic.com and in the Wednesday print edition of the Banner Graphic.
