Whitestone Christian Church to host bluegrass concert by Southern Raised

NEW WINCHESTER — Whitestone Christian Church will host the bluegrass gospel band Southern Raised for a 7 p.m. concert on Friday, Sept. 15.

Southern Raised is a family band of four siblings hailing from Branson, Mo. The lineup includes Lindsay on bass, Sarah on banjo, Emily Grace on fiddle and mandolin and Matthew on guitar.

The siblings were originally trained in classical music, later turning their energy to bluegrass.

Their playing has taken them around the U.S. and Canada and garnered dozens of award nominations.

Cost is $10 at the door, with children 12 and under for free.

Whitestone Christian Church is located one mile west of New Winchester at 8045 W. U.S. 36, Coatesville.
